V seems to be thriving as “Wake Up” is released in Japan during 2014- he’s definitely embracing his idol ways! 
He’s 20 as this first Japanese studio album is dropped at the end of the year but in the months leading up to it, we’ve watched him in their MVs as well as various promo clips and we can see how charming- and dashing- he’s become! His hair is a stunning shade of wine and he’s really standing out with his unique voice and improved choreography. We say it often but he just keeps improving! Oh, and he is definitely beginning to become a favorite with J-ARMY (the Japanese ARMY).
His sweet personality comes through with everything he does. We see him a little goofy at times but always endearing. Yet, like his bandmate and high school pal, Jimin, he sure can flip on the duality! Think about some of the different scenes we see in the Japanese versions of these videos- he can work any mood. Was this the beginning of his acting chops that would later lead him to his acting work in Korea? Maybe!
Plus he’ll continue to gain popularity in Japan- as the years evolve, his solo work charts very well in this market. Last year his song, “Sweet Night” topped the Japanese chart which is very difficult to achieve! He was the first Korean artist to do so with a non-Japanese song.
We think this all can be tied back to these early days and his special bond with this audience and fanbase. If he only knew all the cool and exciting things that were yet to come!
How special is that? Well, just as special as V, of course!
