He’s serious, intense and even back in 2014, Suga was one of best and fastest rappers known! 
As BTS is finding their way in the Japanese market with the release of their first full studio album there, “Wake Up” – Suga continues to wow these new audiences with his impressive rap skills. It’s late 2014 and he’s 22. His hair in this era is a dark brown and we’re still getting his hip-hop vibe. He’s very visible within the group, especially with his solid place within the Rap Line plus he’s gaining more experience and credibility for his other musical talents too.
As we know, in these early years Suga is still exploring music production and engineering. And pouring out his writing talent by cranking out song after song. His work on “Wake Up” just proves it. He, along with RM and j-hope, work with Japanese rappers to create new lyrics (in Japanese) for all the tracks on this record. He is credited on every single song! (Excluding the Intro/Outro). We can only imagine how challenging that must have been, not initially speaking the language fluently. But if anyone can tackle and prevail, it’s Suga!
One other interesting side note regarding Suga and his early times in Japan: back in 2015 (while doing promotions), his appendix burst! He wasn’t feeling well: stomach ache, fever, etc. While visiting a doctor in Japan, his condition hadn’t yet been confirmed but by the time he flew home to Korea, it was established what had happened and he had to have surgery (taking him out of the action for much of that year’s end-of-the-year awards season). We’re sure glad all ended well!
