Time to officially kick off the next round of featured albums, all as part of our SO MUCH MORE TO KNOW Campaign, and let’s keep talking! 

This week we’re moving right along the chronological timeline as to when BTS released their music. We’re now in late summer of 2014 and entering the “Danger” Era. Their first full STUDIO ALBUM (longer with more tracks) is finally released, and it’s titled, “Dark & Wild.” The lead two tracks are “Danger” and “War of Hormone”– which we’ll share more about both, later today.

Here is what Big Hit has to say via their official BTS discography:

“In their first studio album in a year and two months, BTS sings about love gone awry in DARK & WILD. They warn the girl who acts like she doesn’t love them not to test their love anymore.

The boys are no longer in their school uniforms. They have become tougher, singing that their love is not to be treated lightly. A year and two months into their debut, BTS made sure that the visuals, performance and all the elements of their first studio album are flawless. Tracks that highlight the different genres of hip hop—South, West, Boom Bap and Trap—provide a clear direction of BTS’ music. The title track, “Danger” is a tightly-composed hybrid hip hop song with a piercing punk-rock guitar sound that features stark rap, a powerful hook and exhilarating shouting.”

“Dark & Wild” debuted on the Ganon Weekly Chart at #2 and charted (for BTS’ second time) on the Billboard charts, staying for 11 weeks. Finally, it won the Album Division at the 29th Golden Disc Awards in 2015. It was the 14th best-selling album in Korea for that year.

As Big Hit mentions in their description, the boys are no longer school boys. They’ve all aged another year and have had a taste of success plus now have some real experience under their belts. They’re maturing into singing/writing about issues relatable to their, now, young adult/twenty-something peers and their appeal is becoming more mainstream. They’re not just cute teen K-pop idols any more.
