Let’s keep talking about Jimin and learn more about his music. This lyric is from his iconic solo BTS song, “Serendipity” and it’s such a stunningly beautiful song. His vocals are absolutely angelic.
The song was released on August 24, 2018 and appeared on the albums, “Love Yourself : Her” and “Love Yourself : Answer”. The lyrics talk about following your dreams, love, identity and purpose. [Wikipedia] RM has been quoted as saying Jimin wanted to, “push himself as a vocalist” and had come to him for advice. Whatever RM suggested? It sure worked because Jimin does sound amazing.
The video was hugely successful- it was released as the comeback trailer for the “Love Yourself : Her” EP and within 24 hours it had garnered 7 million views. For those of us who have seen any of the footage from the Love Yourself tour, you’ll recognize that this is the song Jimin sings in the ethereal bubble/snowglobe filled with flowers. We’ve not found a copyright-approved version we can share but do recommend you search for it on YouTube!
Jimin has other successful solo endeavors too. From the “Wings” album he has his solo track, “Lie” which he also co-wrote and more recently, “Filter” from “Map of the Soul : 7”. It’s already been nearly five months since the streaming concert, “Map of the Soul ON:E” and we’re STILL not over his performance of “Filter”. It’s beautiful, stunning and yes, sexy. Plus, we still haven’t figured out that magical wardrobe change- you’ve likely seen the photos of his striking red (or purple, depending on the night) suit. And If you’ve not seen the actual performance? Again, google it!
We also cannot forget his sweet duet with his high school pal, Tae, for the song “Friends”. They wrote it together and had hoped to perform it live during the nixed “Map of the Soul : 7” tour last year. We’re sad to have missed that! Although they did perform it for their online anniversary show last summer (Bang Bang Con Live) and again, if you do a search, some ARMY have uploaded a variety of versions.
Jimin is definitely expanding his musical horizons and stretching himself musically whether it’s with his voice or his songwriting or even project management. When each of the members took on a role in the actual production of their album “BE” last year, Jimin was the overall project manager which meant he touched on each component of the process and had to hold the other members to their tasks (for example, V was the creative/visual director, JK directed all the versions of the “Life Goes On” music videos). We can’t imagine that Jimin’s was an easy job.
As we’ve done with some other members, we recommend reading Jimin’s Comeback Interview from last fall. Weverse Magazine published individual articles for each member to coincide with the release of “BE”. It gives great, current insight to where he’s at with a lot of things. (And yes, fabulous photos!)

Now you know more about Jimin and his music! And hopefully have even more appreciation for that unique one-of-a-kind voice. When you hear him singing a solo track or pick out his sound amidst one of your favorite group songs, you’ll have a better understanding about how hard he’s working to sing so lovely, lovely, lovely for ARMY!
