Jin has truly come into his own as a vocalist and his solo endeavor, “Epiphany”, has become rather iconic and is often associated with him.

It was released in August of 2018 and appears on the compilation album, “Love Yourself : Answer”. Although still considered a BTS song, around this time we started seeing members getting a “solo” song on some of the longer studio records.

The reviews were fantastic.

Rolling Stone India stated, “The lyrics are a literal epiphany about the fact that to love others, you first need to master the process of being able to love and accept yourself,” with Jin’s vocals being “dreamy and particularly striking on the background harmonies and adlibs”.

Clash called the song “uplifting and revelatory”, encompassing the entire album’s theme of self love. [Both reviews sourced via Wikipedia.]

What a perfect lyrical and symbolic match for Jin, who feels so strongly about BTS’s “Love Yourself” message (and we do too).

Live performances of “Epiphany” see a breathtaking Jin alone on a vast stage, holding captive tens-of-thousands of ARMY with his emotion-filled delivery. At times, he’ll also sit at a piano and play (especially during BTS tours). Both his singing and his playing are yet more reminders of how far, musically, he’s evolved from his trainee days.
